Sherborne Walks

Take a stroll through time with Blue Badge Guide Cindy Chant

Join Sherborne’s Blue Badge Guide Cindy Chant every Tuesday & Thursday, April-September for a guided walk through time;

a thousand years of history for only £5!

(Though additional Bank Holiday Walks and Winter Specials do happen, so do pop back for the latest updates!)

This year Cindy is operating the same route twice a week to show off as much of this ancient town’s diverse and beautiful architecture as possible.

Walks are on Tuesdays & Thursdays and start at the Tourist Information Centre, Digby Road, at 10:30am, and feature the core of the town where Cindy will take you to explore The Abbey Green, Almshouse, the Conduit, Bow Arch and more.

These delights take at least 1½hours to enjoy, but with Cindy’s enthusiasm and extensive knowledge of the town the extent of your walk is limited only by your interest.

There’s no need to book, and walks happen whatever the weather, but if you’d like to ask Cindy anything in particular or make a private booking for a tour, do contact her:

CHURCH CRAWLS

Being a fully qualified Blue Badge Guide, and long-time local, Cindy doesn't just know Sherborne, she knows all about The West Country at large too!

A particular love is 'Church Crawls'. Less boozy but more historically interesting than a pub crawl, Cindy can join you on a guided drive through some of the architectural beauties that religion has built in the local area. Email for info!

'Armchair Walks'

Not content with giving visitors to beautiful historic Sherborne a guided tour when they get here, Cindy can also bring the tour to you!

With her imense knowledge and the aid of slides, paper handouts, and immeasurable enthusiam, Cindy has brought the sights and History of Sherborne to many who've never even set foot in the town.

Cindy has given talks to local societies and groups on request, as well as given free lectures in Sherborne library on topics as diverse as Sir Walter Raleigh, the Workhouse, and the History of the Lavatory as well as 'An Armchair Guided Tour of Sherborne'.
